Gas Servicing (ex-RiDC) Contract Extension

REPORT TO; Assistant Director, Housing

DECISION DATE: 6 December 2023

SUPPORTING ANNEX; This report includes a supporting Annex which contains exempt information as described in paragraphs 1 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

PROPOSED RECOMMENDATION

To extend the Gas Servicing contract awarded by Richmondshire District Council, in order to extend it for a period of two months, from 31 March 2024 to 28 May 2024.

BACKGROUND TO SUPPORT THE RECOMMENDATION

The recommendation to extend the contract is in response to the Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and a move to amalgamate contracts where possible.  The aim of the extension is to align the end date of the current contract with the end date of the current contract awarded by Selby District Council in order for a single contract to be procured, to take effect from 29 May 2024.

The procurement process is underway.

LEGAL AND GOVERNANCE COMPLIANCE

The contract extension will be undertaken by the Council’s Procurement and Contract Management Service, with a Gateway report being considered in accordance with the Council’s Procurement and Contract Procedure Rules.

This is a Key Decision.  It was entered on the forward plan on 1 November 2023.

RECOMMENDATION

To extend the existing contract for a period of five months from 31 March 2024 to 28 May 2024.  The extension will allow the Authority to proceed with transformational work to amalgamate contracts, previously held separately by the legacy authorities.
